After participating in several forums for about a decade that discuss the things of God and the truth of Scripture, I am becoming more and more convinced that the truth of 2 Tim 3:7 is becoming the norm among most who call themselves Christian, "always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
According to this Barna poll, only 9% of Americans and 19% of born-again Christians have a Biblical world view: http://www.barna.org:80/barna-update/ar ... t-13-years
To have a Biblical world view, one must agree that the following statements are true:
(1) Absolute moral truth exists;
(2) the Bible is totally accurate in all of the principles it teaches;
(3) Satan is considered to be a real being or force, not merely symbolic;
(4) a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by trying to be good or do good works;
(5) Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth; and
(6) God is the all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the world who still rules the universe today.
I could add several more truths that I believe are essential in order to have a Biblical world view, but these six statements should not be that difficult to agree with if one is a true born-again Christian. This tells me that most churches are filled with pew sitters that know not the living reality of the indwelling Christ thru the gift of God's Holy Spirit, and the truth He imparts to those who are able to hear His voice.
John 10:27-28 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand."
